Response to Intervention
RTI (Response to Intervention) is intended to be a system
of instructional supports and interventions
that are provided to students who struggle to reach grade-level goals.
The Tiered Instructional System goes hand-in-hand with RTI
as it provides varying levels of support for students based on their needs.
The Oklahoma Department of Ed
has developed the OTISS model and provides many resources for its implementation. |
The National Center on Response
to Intervention offers explanations and resources for successful learning for all students. |
Intervention Central
provides tools for teacher-directed interventions that accelerate student growth and resources to track the success of those interventions. |
While RTI is not the "path to special education,"
the process of intervention does help identify students with additional instructional needs.
