The Oklahoma Academic Standards
establish the following grade-level expectations for
Handwriting Skills
Pre-K
1. Progresses from using scribbles, shapes, or pictures to represent ideas to using letter-like
symbols, or writing familiar words such as their own name.

1. Print using left to right progression moving from the top to the bottom of the page
